Nigel Farage claims he was forced to resign by the political establishment, and there’s not enough chinny reckon in the world
All eyes will be on Clacton today, as the polls open (and close) in the country’s second most crucial by-election – after Makerfield, obviously.
It's just gone midnight which means it's Election Day, after a spectacular solar eclipse. That's all from Count Binface HQ tonight but I'll be back in the morning. Until then here are some very special pages from Ceefax, broadcast for the very first time from space. Goodnight. x pic.twitter.com/e5sXVNUmNU

There are 34 candidates, but it has really only ever been Farage versus Binface, and while the galactic alien is predicted to pick up around 15 to 20 per cent of the vote, the only poll that matters is the one that happens today.
Whatever the outcome, Reform UK has clearly been terrified at the prospect of Nigel Farage being beaten by a man with a bin on his head.
They’ve released numerous high-quality campaign videos, brought campaigners from every part of the country, and weaponised their ability to get mainstream media to report their every move as though they’re in power.
"Dear Diary,
Final day of campaigning for the Clacton by-election. Whatever the result tomorrow, I can at least rest assured that I will be a total laughing stock and look like an attention-seeking crybaby." pic.twitter.com/g7g73Jmplz— Parody Nigel Farage (@Parody_PM) August 12, 2026
In a last-minute interview with the Metro, Farage insisted that the expensive by-election wasn’t his fault. Sure, Jan.
Speaking to Metro ahead of tomorrow’s by-election in Clacton, Nigel Farage claimed 'the political establishment forced' him to step down as MP.
Farage announced his resignation on July 7 as he faced pressure over scrutiny of an undeclared £5 million ‘gift’ he received pic.twitter.com/c4vJGttzm8
— Metro (@MetroUK) August 12, 2026
To correct the record, we should remind you that far from being forced out by the establishment, Farage chose to resign on July 7, hours after it was announced that the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner planned to interview him over why he didn’t declare a five million pound gift from a Thailand-based crypto billionaire, Christopher Harborne.
His claim at the time was that the people of Clacton would be the judge of whether he had done anything wrong. That’s not how it works.
I have been the victim of an establishment stitch-up! Dark forces are conspiring to get me out of politics. These mysterious forces have done this by:
-making me hide a £5 million gift from a crypto billionaire then lobby the Bank of England on behalf of crypto billionaires…— Parody Nigel Farage (@Parody_PM) July 7, 2026
If Farage wins the election, he will face Parliamentary scrutiny and has been referred to the police for misconduct in public office. If he loses, he’ll always be the man who lost an election to a comedian with a bin on his head.
1.
Complete tripe – he thought he could avoid scrutiny by resigning, no-one forced him in to it

He was forced to resign.
He had abdominal surgery the day before Ann Widdecombe was murdered.
Russia hacked his computer.

Nigel Farage is now claiming that he didn't want to resign as MP but was forced to become the nasty lefty media were making it uncomfortable for him. When are people going to wake up and realise exactly what this man is.

Who the heck is advising him?
He comes across as desperate and nervous, despite already having a track record in the area for two years and facing no main party challenger this time.
He genuinely realises he could lose it. pic.twitter.com/IiXolwQ2yI
