Politics donald trump economy Karoline Leavitt
Karoline Leavitt said that America is more affordable because of Donald Trump, and got buried in an avalanche of inconvenient facts
An objective reading of the American economy right now might sound something like this: god damn it.
Unfortunately, that is not how the people in charge see things.
As Karoline Leavitt announces her intention to quit as White House Press Secretary, just weeks after returning from maternity leave, she appears to have decided to see what blatant lies she can cram in during her final month.
Leavitt has the ability to state the plainly untrue with a startling amount of sincerity. Here she is on Fox News telling viewers that the American economy is doing great.

Not only is she lying to people who spend every day getting gouged at the grocery store and the gas station, she’s telling them to be thankful for it.
Twitter was happy to point out her stunning lack of awareness.

And I’m gonna celebrate by grilling a $18.99/lb New York strip steak, right after I fill my car up with $4.20/gal gasoline that I will drive to the market to buy the steak. The only thing in this country that is cheap is the rhetoric.
Good times.
