You really don’t need to be a fan of Nick Ferrari to appreciate that he has a bit of the Paxman bulldog about him when politicians aren’t being straight with him.

It doesn’t even matter if the politicians in question are in his area of the political spectrum, such as Reform UK’s Richard Tice, who tried to side-step the different excuses Nigel Farage had given for not turning up to the declaration after his by-election success in Clacton.

Credit where it’s due – this is a thing of beauty.

“This appears also to be at odds because we heard Mr Farage say he would not be attending because he didn’t want to be demeaned and humiliated. So, that’s nothing to do with his safety, that’s – he doesn’t want to stand next to somebody dressed as a dustbin.”

“Nigel has just won an outstanding victory. He’s got voters …voters in Clacton have said we want more Nigel, not less Nigel.”

“Is it because he didn’t want to be demeaned and humiliated, as he said, or you’re now telling me that it’s his security team, who overrode Essex Police. Which is it?”

“I’ve just told you, I’m delighted to tell you again. I trust the judgement of Nigel’s security team above everybody else_”

“So his suggestion he would be demeaned and humiliated is nonsensical?”

“I’ve just told you, let’s trust Nigel’s security team to keep Nigel safe, secure and alive.”

“Why did he say he would feel demeaned and humiliated in attending, then?”

“I don’t know, Nick.”
