‘Do you want to hear about the day I walked to a busy station and boarded a train with a used sanitary towel stuck to my hat?’

‘I completely ruined an extravagant Christmas window display. There was a Christmas sale on at the local Next, and it was absolutely packed. On the way through the shop, my partner spotted a friend and stopped to chat. I leaned back against what I thought was a low sort of wall, but it turned out to be the door to the window display.

‘I went backwards into about six inches of fake snow, crushed several Christmas presents, broke a Christmas tree and caved in an elf’s head. It was like that bar scene from Only Fools and Horses, except worse. I was also wearing a fleece, so the snow stuck to me. The entire store seemed to stop and laugh.

Mortifying.’

‘Back in primary 7 my crush throughout primary asked me to the leavers dance. I was head over heels that she even dared look in my direction. Then a week later, I went to meet a friend on my bike.

‘Meet him; my crush and her friends are also there. They then tell me that my friend and crush are now going out together and she would still go to the dance with me, but just for one dance then go with my friend.

‘I just burst out crying said “Why bother!?”, grabbed my bike and started to speed away. I tried to vault a kerb but clipped the front wheel and just c**ted it, still in full view of everyone. I never went to the dance.’

‘I once set off the alarm at a bank. An old man was staring at the cashpoint as if he’d never seen one before and taking ages to get his money so I folded my arms and leant back against the wall and banged my head on what I can only assume is the panic alarm – as all the shutters came down and an alarm went off.

‘I left the bank like a shot and never went back.’

‘In Year 1 we had our first music class and teacher asked us if any of us had heard of Beethoven. I raised my hand so fast. She asked me if I could tell the class a bit about him.

“So when he was a puppy he was kidnapped…”

‘Apparently that was the wrong Beethoven? Sometimes I remember this moment and die a bit inside.’

‘I pissed myself at a National Trust garden when I was about 11. (A long time ago, but the shame still lingers). Was a long drive there for a 2 family day out. When we got there I had to rush into a bush. It was raining and I was wearing a long cagool. I was so desperate that the horse bolted before the gate was open. Pissed all down my jeans.

‘Had to walk about in just trainers and a cagool barely covering my manhood. Then on the way home my pissy jeans were kicking up a right pong and were soaking so my mum dangled them out the window. Flapping around. The shame.’

‘Literally 5 minutes ago I loudly went ‘AH HAH!’ and emerged from my garage like a wizard with the paint mixing stick, there was a random woman in my drive.’

‘I’ve always been super clumsy and always fall over and walk in to things. Once when I was around 7 or 8 my mum was teasing me (in good humour) about it. She said I was so goofy. I got stroppy about it. I got up to clear the plates from the table, proudly proclaiming that I wasn’t goofy at all!

‘Turned around to take the plates in to the kitchen, and proceeded to walk straight in to a wall and dropped the plates. Turns out, I am kind of goofy!’

‘I once got stuck as a kid crawling under a shower cubicle divider at a leisure centre for a dare, and the staff had to physically disassemble it to free me.’

‘Once I stepped on a lady’s foot on the bus and shot up to try not to put all my weight on it and landed on a different lady who was carrying a set of dinner plates home.

‘They all fell on the floor and smashed and everybody had to get off the bus because of “the despicable legal industry” in the words of the bus driver.’

‘Third year of uni. On a bus back home from the centre of London after a night out I start to feel iffy. Manage to hold it on all the way to my stop.

‘Upon frantically stepping off the bus I stand on my trousers pulling them and my boxers down. I then proceed to crawl to the bin with my arse out. Sadly I don’t stand up In time and am sick at the bottom of it just as the doors close.’
