Michael Gove was handed a humiliating legal lesson on live telly and the former justice secretary’s face was a proper treat
You will probably already have seen elsewhere that the five men arrested over a suspected bomb plot at RAF Fairford have been released on bail.
The five suspects were all British men in their 20s from London, and were released while police investigate why they were so close to the airbase in three vans with suspicious material in the back.
We mention this because one-time Tory leadership wannabe and former justice secretary Michael Gove was at a loss to explain why the men had been released. Why? Why?
Fortunately for him and everyone else involved journalist Kevin Maguire was on hand to deliver a short, sharp lesson in how the legal system operates and it was nothing short of humiliating for the poor lad.
Lord Gove: “The thing that is really perplexing to me is why these people have been released on bail..”
