‘My son was about 5 months old at my husband’s step brother’s wedding (they insisted he should attend, we did offer to get a babysitter) and I fed him a bottle during the vows to try to make sure he didn’t make any noise.

‘Just as the officiant asked if anyone had any objections, my son let out a loud burp. Luckily the bride and groom found this hilarious.’

‘Wasn’t a joke but at my cousin’s wedding my dad was the officiant and when he asked, someone piped up ‘Bride and Groom have EVERY right to be married’ as if the very suggestion of otherwise was offensive.

‘Everyone froze when they heard the voice and all laughed nervously for a few minutes afterwards. My dad’s face was a picture.’

‘My brother shouted “fat bitch” at our sister’s wedding. She is not fat, but my brother does have Tourettes. It made a nice chuckle for most.’

‘Not quite, but at my friend’s wedding, when the officiant said, “I call upon these persons here present….”, a little voice interrupted and said, “Present! Does that mean I get a present?!!!” It was the nephew, a page boy and he was about 6 at the time. It was very funny.’

‘I was at a wedding where the vicar asked the question, pause… massive flash and kabooom of thunder. Big laugh, luckily Vic decides not to take it as an objection from his boss.’

‘No funny comments but I was at a wedding where a photographer dropped a camera at this very moment.’

‘My mother in law got re-married and my son ended up being born early, two days before the wedding. We planned not to go anymore as it was just too much so soon after the birth, but on the morning my partner actually felt up for it so thought she’d surprise her mum.

‘We drove to the venue, got a little delayed because of baby things and she ended up walking into the ceremony unannounced, somewhat slamming the door open and at that exact moment on the proceedings. An initial shock was followed quickly by a good chuckle once everyone realised what was happening.’

‘At our wedding when it came to that bit, our dog decided that was the best time to be vocal since everything was so quiet. I love my wife and was a beautiful day, but to me that bit was the best part.’
