Dan Walker had the best response to the Mail’s front page about Boris Johnson blaming the BBC
In not entirely unexpected news, Boris Johnson has apparently identified the real culprit for the state the nation finds itself in right now.
Well, he has according to the front page of the Mail on Sunday, which it’s fair to say raised the odd eyebrow or two.
It’s the BBC.
Here’s a little bit of what the paper’s front page story had to say.
‘Boris Johnson has condemned the BBC as ‘shamefully frivolous, vengeful and partisan’ over its coverage of the No10 ‘Partygate’ row.
‘The embattled Prime Minister turned his fury on the Corporation in the belief it has neglected its ‘primary duty’ of publicising the need for booster jabs to combat at the new Omicron variant of Covid.’
Well, at least the so-called Prime Minister was able to put that second bit right by taking over the BBC’s airwaves at 8pm last night.
Anyway, the Mail’s front page story got entirely the responses you’d imagine. Here’s just a flavour.
Typical BBC. Forcing Downing Street to hold Christmas parties against Covid rules and making Boris Johnson attend them then forcing him to repeatedly lie about there not being any parties. Shameful. pic.twitter.com/cjaGUazUHL

According to Mail on Sunday it’s all the BBC’s fault that Boris Johnson’s staff broke the rules and he lies about it. In other news: look over there! A technicolour kangaroo is mating with a unicorn https://t.co/5ofEKYGphL

They have a few options when things get tough. Blame Muslims, migrants, BLM, statue topplers (of which there are two) or the BBC. https://t.co/57nFmQ3pBR

But we reckon BBC Breakfast presenter, taking time from owning Piers Morgan on Twitter, put it best.

In unrelated news, former Daily Mail editor Paul Dacre returned to the paper as editor-in-chief last month.
And during this crisis, when the Prime Minister has been proven to have been partying and lying about it while the rest of the country suffered, what does Dacre’s Mail on Sunday do? Attack the BBC for reporting the truth
And Dacre wanted to run Ofcom. Non journalist of the year https://t.co/1x3JEnNG5D
