Chewbacca was arrested during the Ukraine elections

The Wookiee is handcuffed and detained after supporting Darth Vader’s bid to be elected as Mayor of Odessa, reports Sky News.

Chewie was reportedly stopped by police on Sunday while driving Darth Vader to a polling station in Odessa where the pair were campaigning for Vader in the mayoral elections.

Ukraine’s local election law forbids candidates from canvassing on the day of voting and Chewbacca was taken into custody after failing to show police his ID.

Russia Today adds that Lord Vader complained about the detention of his supporter. He also said he failed to cast his own ballot as he was missing from the voter registry – despite the fact he has a Ukrainian passport, issued for Darth Alekseyevich Vader.
