This hilarious thread might just contain the solution to rising sea levels
One of the biggest problems faced by scientists – and everyone else, really – is the issue of rising sea levels, exacerbated by melting polar ice caps, threatening island and coastal communities and due, mostly, to man-made climate change. Over on Twitter, the very funny Sir Michael has been turning his considerable intellect to the matter, but not without some setbacks.
Here is my official statement on today's events. I will not be commenting further on this matter at this time. pic.twitter.com/cvkaHZkbMN

It’s disappointing when a theory doesn’t stand up to scrutiny, but Sir Michael’s followers were inspired by his musings and suggested their own solutions, one of which may just save the world.
The Bucket (and Pigeons) solution
Oh Sir M, I'm sorry to hear that. Science is rubbish and scientists spoil all the best ideas. Would you like to help me with my plan instead? If everyone in the world fills a bucket up from the sea and doesn't pour the water away that's got to help, hasn't it?
— Pam (@hadenoughnow) January 12, 2019
That would definitely help, yes. You'd just have to remember to place a sign on the bucket that says, "Please do NOT pour this water into a sink or a local river".

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous.
The buckets of water would counteract the lifting effects achieved by Michael and his balloons.

Have you considered pigeons?

You, sir, just got yourself hired as Chief of Ideas in my new taskforce to counteract rising sea levels

The Ocean Plug
I don’t know why they just don’t send a submarine down to the bottom of the ocean to pull the plug out for a bit. About twenty seconds should do.
