‘About a month after my mom passed away, I was laying in bed when the washer and dryer started and I heard her say bring your dirty clothes so I can wash them, I got up and nobody was there but the washer and dryer both were going.’

‘Mid-1970s, coastal Maine. Summer night. I was about 10. We’re all called outside to watch a bright light zipping around in the sky. Soon what was probably a military jet, with its blinking red light, appears and heads right at the light. It gets close and blink the light goes out and a second later blink it’s back in another place far across the sky. The jet slowly turns and creeps across the sky towards the light and again it blinks out and reappears far away. A few minutes of my life I’ve never forgotten.’

‘When I was a child and laid on my parents bed looking out over our forest in the back yard, I watched as two glowing orbs hovered and danced high above the trees but below the stars. Eventually they merged and joined into one brilliant orb and sped off into the sky at an enormous speed. I yelled ‘Mooooooom!’ but it was gone by the time she got there. It was beautiful and I’ve seen nothing like it to this day.’

‘I was directly under a fighter jet that had been deployed and it did a sonic boom right above our heads. You could see the panels on the plane, that’s how close it was.’

‘I went on an errand over my lunch hour and saw three tornadoes converging in the distance, It was like a horrible movie, and the aftermath of destruction was horrific and real.’

‘I’m a chronic insomniac. When I first got my licence, I’d take my dad’s white ’73 Buick Riviera out cruising around. Just feel the rumble of the engine, run some red lights. This was forty years ago in a very sleepy suburb town, there weren’t even cops awake then.
Well, I always filled the tank before going home so dad could go to work. One morning, about 2am, I pulled into this gas station and there were three other Buick Rivieras there. A yellow ’73, and two ’71s, one white and one yellow. Two older men and a much older woman.
We just looked at each other in surprise and nodded in recognition. No one spoke. We filled our cars and went on our way. I’d never seen those cars around before, and never saw them again.’

‘My brother died in 1998. After he died, I would be somewhere and suddenly feel him near me. It was always accompanied by the smell of cigarette smoke.
In 2007, I was living in a big house, and my now husband was away on business so I was alone. I was putting clothes away in my closet when I suddenly smelled cigarette smoke. It wasn’t disturbing because of my brother, but it was the first time he’d visited in that house, so it was a surprise.
When I finished, I went into the kitchen to get something to drink, and all of the kitchen drawers were pulled out. I’d just walked through to take the basket of clothes to the bedroom and they had not been open. To be safe, I went around the house making sure all the doors and windows were locked, which they were.’

‘I dropped my house key in my kitchen, my friend that was standing nearby heard it hit the floor, we looked everywhere for it, pulled out the refrigerator etc. It was nowhere to be found. I went to my Dad’s house later that day and on the window ledge in his kitchen was my house key! I was absolutely blown away! I asked my Dad where the key came from and he told me that he found it on his kitchen floor. I asked him if he recalled the time, he did and it was around the same time I dropped mine. I’m so grateful that I had a witness to this because I could barely believe it myself.’

‘When I was about 7 or 8 I got a costume jewellery ring out of one of those 25 cent prize machines at the store with my parents. I wore it everywhere for weeks until one day it went down the kitchen drain. I grieved and moved on. A week or two later I was watching cartoons and eating cheese crackers (specifically the catdog cheese nips) and while I reached absentmindedly into the box mid-snack, I pulled out my ring.’

‘Me and a buddy of mine were heading home from a friend’s house at about 2-3 am. Where I lived at the time wasn’t exactly highly populated. He’s driving down a back road and we just see this old man in an all white suit with a cane and I want to say a nice white hat just… standing on the side of the road. Like he was waiting for someone or something. Typically that wouldn’t be so strange, but it was 2am in the middle of nowhere. ‘Hey, Chris? Drive a little faster…’.’

‘Silent moving triangle above my house. Had a red light on the base, no noise and quite large. Can’t explain that.’
