“The thing that has worn on me the most is how it just keep…going. When you’re in school, you get the summer off to relax, then the new school year starts in the fall. New classes, new friends, you level up to the next grade. In adulthood, there’s nothing like that. No grand reset. Everything goes in different cycles so you just have to keep trudging along. Even the new year doesn’t feel that new since you just have to go back on Monday to whatever you were doing before the holidays even if you had them off.”

“Just when you think you’re catching up on bills and in a position to save money, something in your car or house will break and you have to spend more money. It never stops.”

“That the need for doing laundry, cooking, taking the trash and cleaning is endless. You cook food and soon you have to cook again, chores are an inescapable loop.”

“You have to pay for literally everything. Water, trash pickup, internet, car registration, health insurance, even parking. As a kid I thought bills were just a thing parents complained about. Now they’re my life.”
