Reform UK’s vile threat to put asylum-seeker detention centres in Green-run areas is pure, petty Trumpism in action – 21 full-throated objections

"we will build new prisons so as to punish the districts that don't vote for us; if you vote for us your district will remain prison-free" is such a profoundly depressing message. whoever came up with it does not believe that democracy is a good idea. https://t.co/JNjSlN5ogK

Imagine the reaction if Keir Starmer came out tomorrow and said that he’d decided Reform voters voted for insurance-based healthcare, so he was taking away their right to the NHS

I believe this is called voter intimidation.
Or in Mafia terms, a shakedown.
Either way, both pathetic and illegal. https://t.co/M4EWGvMIXc

That’s not a policy. That’s abuse of power. Public policy making must be rational and reasonable. If it’s arbitrary or politically discriminatory it will be thrown out by the courts. Judicial review would find any such decisions to be in breach of Wednesbury reasonableness.

I see Reform are so desperate to divert attention from Nige’s £5m they will announce almost anything as policy

I think most British people believe in the basic principle that no matter who you vote for, the government will treat you equally under the law. Yusuf’s plan to put detention camps in Green voting areas violates that. It is trolling as public policy and I think will damage Reform https://t.co/TbVfV5a34q

Fact check.
1. Reform can’t “pledge” anything. These are local elections Thursday Labour will still be in power for 3 YEARS.
2. It’s illegal to intimidate and threaten voters.
Good luck with that, you authoritarian conmen. @BBCPolitics @BBCNews @SkyNews @LBC https://t.co/NPTV6bBwml

Food for thought.
If they’re this vindictive for local election seats imagine the shit they’re going to concoct at a General Election.
