Politics Abdul El-Sayed donald trump

A reporter asked Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed about how Trump said “he’s full of sh*t” and Abdul’s absolutely savage comeback is one for the ages

Abdul El-Sayed is the latest rising star within Democratic politics in the US.

This week, the 41-year-old stunned the party establishment by defeating Congresswoman Haley Stevens for the Democratic nomination for the Senate in the crucial swing state of Michigan ahead of November’s mid-term elections.

And like other left-wing Democrats like New York mayor Zohran Mamdani and Congresswoman AOC, El-Sayed is a natural on social media and in dealing with the press in the internet age.

But the surest sign that El-Sayed is on an upswing? Donald Trump has attacked him, saying at an event in Las Vegas earlier this week that El-Sayed “is full of shit”.

Cut to a plucky Sky News reporter asking El-Sayed for his response to the president’s comments, and the Senate hopeful did not disappoint.

He replied, “At least I don’t let mine [shit] go in the middle of the Oval Office” – referring to unverified claims that Trump – and we can’t believe we’re typing these words – has bowel control issues in public.

El-Sayed’s quick-witted clapback has gone viral.
