Weird World financial times lunch
The unexpected payoff to this ‘ultimate lunch with the FT’ column is a proper jaw-dropper
There’s a rather fabulous column in the Financial Times called Lunch with the FT in which a journalist interviews a guest over – you guessed it – a lunch of their choosing.
And it invariably makes for a fabulous read, most memorably this particularly lively affair with Richard Desmond where the bill came to an eye-watering £758.
But not even that – or indeed any other lunch in the column which dates back to 1994 – can compare with this one, as highlighted by the FT’s very own Jim Packard.

And here it is again in full just in case that is tricky to read …
Didn’t see that coming!
'….which is not an amateur's drink' is a fantastic phrase.

Sounds like a great way to go…a free lunch with the bonus of no hangover.

To conclude …
Probably the best kicker in the history of journalism. https://t.co/f8JEwJAl8I
