Of all the nonsense that was spewed at Tommy Robinson’s far-right rally, this ‘banner’ took the absolute biscuit
To Tommy Robinson wannabe Stephen Yaxley-Lennon’s far-right protest in London at the weekend, where there was no end of nonsense being spewed (not least this made-up Little Tommy stat).
But this one was surely hard to beat, a ‘banner’ that just went wildly viral for reasons that will become obvious (readers of a sensitive or indeed non-sensitive disposition, look away now).
Banner spotted at the Unite the Kingdom protest today.

And the entirety of the internet – we exaggerate only slightly – responded as one.

He lived to 84 and died peacefully before anyone really knew what he’d done. How is that not ‘getting away with it’? https://t.co/uQL9sfAA0N

Saville very famously got away with it, and died aged 84 as a beloved icon.
Also, extremely ironic that these right wing flag shaggers conveniently forget Saville’s connections to the Queen Elizabeth II and Thatcher, two figures they love to use as symbols of their “patriotism”. https://t.co/OP89jZcN5q

Famously Jimmy Savile died in prison, having been justly convicted for his crimes. https://t.co/EivzuMUc6a

But just in the interests of balance and all that, there was also a little speculation that the banner wasn’t all that it seemed.
Oh come on, everybody and their mother can see this is a poorly edited photoshop job.
